What to Expect

  • Morning: Start at 8:30 AM from your meeting point. Visit the original Bamboo Train at Osrolao Village for a unique one-hour ride (optional). Explore a Cham Muslim village and watch locals feeding fish in the Stueng Sangke River. Learn about their history and traditions.
  • Cultural Visits: Cross the suspension bridge to photograph a Buddhist temple. Explore local handicrafts and see how villagers produce items like bamboo sticky rice, rice paper, and rice wine.
  • Historical Insight: Visit Wat Samrong Knong. It is also known as the Well of Shadows. Learn about the Khmer Rouge period and pay respects to the victims there.
  • Cuisine and Village Life: Explore a local fish market and learn about Cambodian cuisine. This includes bamboo sticky rice, fish paste, rice wine, rice paper, and banana slices.
  • Ancient Temples: If interested, visit Wat Ek Phnom, an ancient temple older than Angkor Wat.
  • Homestay Experience: Arrive at the Family Batcave Homestay around noon. Leave your bags, take a shower, and relax. Enjoy local hospitality and a traditional Khmer meal (lunch and dinner optional).

  • Evening: Overnight at the homestay with Esaro’s family, experiencing authentic rural life. The next morning, return to Battambang city.

What to Expect

Window (Memai) Bridge:
Meet at your hotel and start the day with a visit to the Window Bridge. Explore the village and enjoy the peaceful countryside. Stop along the way to take photos and have breakfast at a local restaurant if needed.

Ochaom Waterfall:
Around noon, arrive at Ochaom village. Leave your transport at the community center and hike approximately 1 km through the forest with a local guide. Rest at the top and enjoy lunch surrounded by nature. During the rainy season, the waterfall is at its fullest. In the dry season, there are still pools of clean water to cool off.

Prasat Snueng Temple:
Return by car along Road No. 57, passing through corn, cassava, and paper farms. Visit the historic Prasat Snueng temple and learn about its significance.

Bat Cave at Phnom Sampov:
End your day at the famous Bat Cave. Watch as millions of bats fly out at dusk, creating a spectacular natural show. Afterward, return to Battambang city.
